Pamela Herron’s EN L'AIR is a delightful poetry collection that floats on a breeze of captivating imagery and gentle humor. The poet’s words dance off the page with a lightness, as suggested by the title, evoking scenes and moments that bring a smile to the reader’s face. With delicate strokes, like a "furry five o'clock shadow" of a squirrel-fur paintbrush, Herron paints vivid pictures that transport readers to a world where human behavior is juxtaposed with the natural world’s wisdom and grace.

The collection offers charming surprises, from the playful comparison of human habits to the more humble, respectful behaviors of animals, to heartwarming reflections on creatures like swans and wolves who mate for life. Herron’s poems inspire chuckles, smiles, and sighs of appreciation as they puzzle together snow-covered moments on the backdrop of life’s expansive sky. Through her work, she imparts thoughtful tidbits about the animal kingdom while reminding readers of the beauty and simplicity in the natural rhythms around us. EN L'AIR is a lovely, refreshing read that leaves one feeling light and uplifted.
