THE BODY REMEMBERS
The Body Remembers illuminates the complex lines of life as they extend altering our curvatures and contours, scar counts, and all that reshapes from a woman’s work. Maureen Sherbondy deftly captures a body’s evolution as it traverses time challenging readers to recognize ourselves in this collective, human experience. We are reminded that in this impermanence, the ongoing process of living and dying, we are never without the sanctuary of our bodies. She poses a central question, Isn’t everything then about the body? These poems ring with grit, grief, and marvel. They are recognition that the body sustains us, humbles us, and even betrays, inciting us to parse what is damaged, what needs threading, and what still holds beauty.

Praise for THE BODY REMEMBERS
“In her moving new poetry collection, The Body Remembers, Maureen Sherbondy explores the power of opposites—fragility and strength, God and science, joy and sorrow—as she distills the present from the past with unshirking honesty."
Diane Chamberlain, author of The Last House on the Street
