Big News: Kerry Donoghue Joins “Get the Word Out” Publicity Incubator!
We’re thrilled to share that MOUTH author Kerry Donoghue has been selected to participate in Get the Word Out, a prestigious publicity incubator for early-career authors!
What’s Get the Word Out? It’s a literary launchpad for debut and sophomore authors, offering personalized mentorship from accomplished book publicists. Through the program, authors like Kerry receive expert guidance to develop and implement strategic publicity campaigns designed to boost their visibility, connect with readers, and build a sustainable literary platform.
Kerry’s debut short story collection, MOUTH, is a fierce and fearless exploration of American consumption culture—what we buy, eat, swallow, and hoard, and what it says about our deep-seated hunger for meaning. In ten darkly insightful stories, Donoghue introduces us to characters whose compulsions and cravings force them to confront who they truly are beneath the surface.
About Kerry Donoghue:
Kerry grew up in the pastel glow of suburban Los Angeles malls in the '80s and '90s—a place where consumption wasn’t just encouraged, it was ritualized. That early fascination with what people bought, wore, and ate became the cornerstone of her work. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in Ninth Letter, Painted Bride Quarterly, Permafrost, The Louisville Review, and The South Carolina Review, among other outlets. She also wrote The Loudest Voice of All, a children’s book that raises funds to educate young girls about voting. Kerry earned her MFA from the University of San Francisco, and today she lives in the Bay Area with her family and zero decent malls, surviving on crunchwraps and good storytelling.
This exciting opportunity will give MOUTH the attention it deserves, and we can’t wait to see how Kerry uses this platform to amplify her literary voice even further.
