Echoes of the Wild: Matt Daly’s The Invisible World Unveils the Haunting Call of the Wilderness

Unsolicited Press is thrilled to unveil The Invisible World, a breathtaking poetry collection by award-winning poet Matt Daly. In this haunting exploration, Daly’s poems trace the contours of the wilderness, capturing the ghostly beauty of the natural world and confronting the complex shadow of his ancestor, Cotton Mather.

Author Juan J. Morales, of The Handyman’s Guide to End Times, praises The Invisible World, saying: “Matt Daly’s poems guide us into the roughly beautiful wilderness with keen observations and challenging conversations with his complicated ancestor, Cotton Mather. We find ourselves by connecting, departing, and reflecting on the ghosts and gestures of mosquito pokes, bat wings, flash of mountain lion crossing our headlights, and messages delivered by crows and ravens. Daly’s poems beautifully blend together dream, the listening pines, and the wash of river so they cling to us like the burrs and seeds we carry all the way home.”

The Invisible World serves as a deeply personal reckoning with a complex history. Daly, whose lineage traces back to Puritan ancestors who viewed wild lands as dark realms to be conquered, offers a path toward reconciliation. These poems are love letters to the wild and elegies for an earth scarred by human hand, challenging readers to reflect on a heritage of domination and, ultimately, seek harmony with the natural world.
